Getting Started
- Start/Stop: Click the "Metronome" pulse or the Start/Stop button
- Set Tempo: Click the BPM number to open the tempo slider and quick presets
- Choose Sound: Select from the dropdown (Beep, Bass, Cymbal, Tock, Riffs,
Vibrate, or Silent)
- Change Theme: Click the colored circle in the top-left corner
Visual Indicators
- Metronome (left pulse): Flashes on each beat to keep you in sync
- Your Beat (right meter): Shows your tapping/movement intensity in real-time
- Tap the "Your Beat" meter to enable/disable beat detection
Beat Detection Mode
What it does: The metronome monitors your movements and only makes sound when
you drift off tempo. Perfect for practicing independence and staying on beat!
How it works:
- Enable by checking "Beat Detection" or tapping the "Your Beat" meter
- The metronome runs silently while you practice
- Your device's accelerometer detects taps/movements
- The system evaluates both timing and tempo:
- Timing: Are you within tolerance of the beat? (in milliseconds)
- Tempo: Is your overall BPM within range?
- If you're on beat → Silent (green status)
- If you drift off → Metronome beeps to guide you back
Beat Detection Settings
These appear when Beat Detection is enabled:
- Beat Detection (0-100%): Motion sensitivity
- Higher % = detects lighter taps
- Lower % = requires harder hits
- Default: 50%
- Timing Tolerance (5-1000ms): How precise your timing must be
- 100ms = within 0.1 seconds of the beat
- Lower = stricter timing required
- Higher = more forgiving
- BPM Tolerance (0-20): How consistent your tempo must be
- 5 BPM = stay within ±5 BPM of target (e.g., 115-125 when target is 120)
- 0 = must match target exactly
- Higher = more tempo drift allowed
Pro Tip: Focus on one skill at a time!
- Practice tempo consistency: Set Timing Tolerance to 1000ms (max)
- Practice precise timing: Set BPM Tolerance to 20 (max)
Status Display
When Beat Detection is active, you'll see three indicators at the top:
- Status: "On beat" (green) or "Off beat!" (red)
- Detected BPM: Your actual tempo based on your taps
- Accuracy: Milliseconds off from the metronome beat
Tempo Control
Click the large BPM number to open a menu with a tempo slider and quick preset buttons for common
musical tempos:
- 60 - Largo, 72 - Adagio, 80 - Andante, 92 - Moderato
- 108 - Allegretto, 120 - Allegro, 132 - Vivace, 144 - Presto
